Goo Goo Giveaway Extravaganza: $10 Bath & Body Works Gift Card

It's gift card time again.

I'm giving away another one today as part of the Goo Goo Giveaway Extravaganza.

But first, you'll have to indulge me a story.

Now, when it comes to giving gifts, I tend to stay away from gift cards because I pride myself on surprising my friends and family with thoughtful gifts that show I've been listening to them as they've voiced their wants/needs throughout the year. In fact, I keep an ongoing gift list on my BlackBerry just for that purpose. When a friend or my hubby or another family member mentions that they like something, I jot it down. I consult that list when birthdays, Christmas and other gift-giving occasions roll around.

Now, I'm not saying that I think gift cards are impersonal or thoughtless gifts. Quite the contrary. I just really like shopping and giving gifts that I think the recipient will love and want.
But I love getting a gift card to my favorite stores/salons/spas/restaurants because there's always something I want from there.

In fact, I have a quite generous gift card burning a hole through my wallet. For our wedding anniversary last month, my husband gave me $200 worth of pampering at one of my favorite spas. Isn't he sweet? I think he intended me to take an entire spa day, but I plan to parcel the gift card out so I can get three or four massages or facials. That will actually buy me more relaxation.

And since we're on the theme of relaxation today, how about a $10 gift card from Bath & Body Works?
