Goo Goo Giveaway Extravaganza: Buckhead Betties Madras Plaid Handbag

When my dad was in junior high, he went to Belk's department store and charged a pair of madras plaid pants on his parents' account. The next day, he wore the pants to school -- even though they were strictly forbidden -- and was promptly sent home by the principal.

Needless to say, my dad got into big trouble with his parents. And those madras plaid pants mysteriously disappeared. Until the day she died, my grandmother swore she didn't know what happened to them. But ask my Uncle Jerry about them, and he cracks into a big grin. We'll get to the bottom of the madras plaid mystery some day.

But not knowing makes a better story.

Today's Goo Goo Giveaway is in honor of my Dad and those (I'm sure butt-ugly) pants. I'm giving away a cute Buckhead Betties madras plaid purse. I'm actually a big fan of madras plaid, but I can't imagine my dad in a pair -- even as a preteen. That screams big fashion faux pas!
