Goo Goo Giveaway Extravaganza: Harry Connick Jr. "Your Songs" CD

I get weak in the knees when I hear Harry Connick Jr. sing. That voice makes me want to turn down the lights, light some candles and get romantic.

My husband should be taking notes...

So how could say no when the One2One Network offered me a review copy of the crooner's newest CD, Your Songs? I couldn't. And boy, am I glad to have this CD in my collection. Harry's voice makes me feel mellow, relaxed and in love.


While I'm a huge fan of his original recordings, I particularly like Your Songs because so many of the songs are familiar. Even my husband -- who has a take-him-or-leave-him attitude about Harry Connick Jr. -- enjoyed this album. I even caught him singing along to some of the songs in the car.

As they might say on American Idol, Harry Connick Jr. has a way of making these classic love songs his own, whether he's covering Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beatles or Tony Bennett.

My favorite songs on the album are "Your Song," originally recorded by the great Elton John, and "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel. In my opinion, Connick does these singer-songwriters proud with his heartfelt, big-band versions of their songs.

On Your Songs, Harry performs classic songs by some of the greatest musicians of all time, with a full jazz big band and string orchestra. I guarantee you'll know many -- if not all -- of these songs.
